A Day in the Life of.....The American Music Awards 2011

Hey dolls,

tuesday evening and finally time for another blog entry:-D
I've been pretty busy with uni-work the last couple of weeks and, well, I've also been at my first christmas market this year, drinking the first Glühwein of this winter season! So yummy!

An important celeb event was happening last week- The American Music Awards 2011!
So, I thought it would be worth to write an entry about them- showing you how the stars dressed up to impress- what a twist of words, right?:-D

Country- singer Taylor Swift, 22, was one of the night's greatest winners. She won 3 awards, including "Greatest Artist of the Year". Adele, sensational newcomer from England, won 2 awards! Music superstars like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and Katie Perry did not win a prize, unfortunately.

But now let's have a look on this year's fashion- who could win the award in this category?

1. Miley Cirus: The young singer looked fabulous in her white-short dress- love it!

2. Rihanna: I did not like Rihanna's new red hair, however I must admit, I really like it here and the red dress looks actually nice on her:-D

3. Selena Gomez: the singer recently hosted the EMAs 2012 and looked stunning! She does here too, however, Iam not sure if this dress actually reveals a little bit too much, and is too sexy for almost 20 year old....What do you think?

3. Taylor Swift: The winner of the evening looked stunning in her metallic shimmering dress on the red carpet. I really like her hair, the bangs give the whole look an edgy touch!

4. Ellie Goulding: The British singer and songwriter has a great taste of fashion! She always gives her own style to it and this LBD is simple but yet classy. I think its her hair that gives her the look that "little something"

5. Heidi Klum: Model, perfume maker, host, and buisness woman is just an allrounder! How can a mother of four actually still look that good? A lot of discipline needed to keep this body in shape, I guess. I think this dress is nice, but it is a little "safer" than her usual outfits!

My award would go to......Ellie Goulding!
How did you guys decide?

Talk to you soon!
Have a great week!

A Day in the Life of....the OSCAR

Hey guys,

by now, probably most of you have realized Iam a big fan of music, cinemas, TV series ....
Iam also a big fan of award shows! I like seeing celebrities in their great dresses, discussing who looked good and who don't:-D
What is the biggest award show in the world? Right...the OSCARS!
There's no more glamorous, more star-packed, and fashionable show than the oscars. For one night, each celebrity tries to look the best he/she can! Sometimes, month long preparations are necessary to look stunning and perfect in the designer gowns. So, in honor of this year's oscars I picked out my 5 favorites!
Have a look....

What do you guys think about my oscar favorites?

Hope you are all having a great week so far!
Take care,

A Day in the Life of....Blair Waldorf

Hey everyone,

its Monday evening and time for a new blog post!
In one of my last entries, I wrote about my top-10 series! Iam a TV-junkie and I pick up new series so easily (unfortunately:-D). To my defense, Iam not responsible for the fact that there are so many great shows to watch! Especially, US-shows.....
One of my favorite shows is....Gossip Girl! I just love the characters, the drama, and especially the fashion!
I think each character has his/her own unique style. There are the boys...
(1) Chuck Bass: heir of the Bass-empire, owns a fortune, suits are his fashion-statement; I love his classy way to dress; he's always looking like an actor from the 20s...considering his fashion:-D
(2) Nate Archibald: handsome, athletic, sexy, womanzier....just few words to describe Nate. His style is more laid back, between Ralph Lauren and Hollister:-D
(3) Dan Humphrey: grown up in Brooklyn his style reflects that...his usually dressed in jeans and comfy t-shirts, and his curly hair makes him the cute-boy-from-next-door! :-D
The girls....
(1) Serena Van der Woodsen: blonde hair, blue eyes, great body....funky, sweet, sexy, yet grown up. Serena knows how to dress herself in short skirts and pants, which show off her great figure!
(2) Blair Waldorf: Blair is actually my favorite character in the show; because of her attitudes and behaviour and her way to dress. Blair is the chick, upper East side girl, who knows how to wear classy dresses and skirts. She has an unique style, since it is classy and there is always a modern twist.

I love Blair's style and this is why I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Blair Waldorf outfits....and here we go.....

Hope you like them as much as I do!

See you next time!!!

A Day in the life of....Ben Howard

Hey guys!

As Iam really busy with university work, this will be just a quick post and update for you!
Listening to BBC Radio1 always has one big advantage: discovering new artists!

The last weeks I was into a new young musician named Ben Howard. His music is just brilliant.
He is from Devon, England and I would describe is music-style as folk-Jack-Johnson:-D
He just released his first album "Every Kingdom" and it is nothing but awesome. Every song on the album is fun to listen to and he sounds even better live!

I hope I will have the opportunity to see him next year in February, because he will play a gig in Bristol and since I happen to have a sister, who is studying there, it would be perfect!

My advice: Go to youtube and check out his songs!
This is a picture of him:

and him playing his latest track "The Fear":

See you soon!

Autumn and Winter around the Corner

Hey guys,

so as autumn is finally here and winter is just around the corner, I was looking for some cute winter outfits the last couple of weeks.
I like to change my wardrobe each season, but autumn/winter is definitely my favorite!
I love to wear my OFFICE boots, my HOLLISTER parka and a nice warm jumper!
There are so many beautiful knitted cardigans, jumpers, gloves, scarves etc. which make this time of the year so special!
I also like searching online shops for their latest offers! Check out the websites of:
River Island, Very.uk, Next, Topshop, ASOS, H&M, OFFICE or Clarks! Of course there are many more....
If it wasnt about the money, I would online shop and buy all day:-D

Below are some pics of my most favorite clothes! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

See you next time and take care!

UPDATE

Hey guys,
sorry for neglecting my blog for such a long time....the last days were pretty hectic as a lot of things were going on and needed to be done.
I finished correcting my second term paper- and I will sent it to my prof after I get back from holiday.
So, keep all of your fingers crossed that I pass all of my seminars from this semester!!!!

Then we were meeting some friends because all of the wanted to say goodbye to my sister who will stay in Bristol for one year to do her masters degree.
Also my mum celebrated her 50th birthday on Sunday and we went on a day trip to famous Schloss Neuschwanstein build by Bavarian King Ludwig II. It was a fabulous day only the bad weather kind of disturbed the celebration mood:-D We took a guided tour through the castle, drank coffee and ate cake and walked around the nice landscape. We drove home at 5pm because we wanted to eat dinner at a near by restaurant. All in all it was a nice day- without the rain it would have been even better!!!!

The last days we were also packing our stuff- especially my sister's clothes, books...- everything she needs for her stay! It made me realize that she is finally leaving. We will spend one week together until we leave her behind- it makes me soo sad to even think about it. But then on the other hand I know that we all grow up and that life is about experiencing new things and change! I KNOW she will have the best time of her life there and going there was the best decision she could have made!
Iam also looking forward spending my life alone, makes me be more grown up too and Iam beyond excited to have my first semester in Tuebingen living in my lovely own apartment!

Thats it for now- I will enjoy the last evening and tomorrow we are off (at 5.30 am!!!!) to England!!!
Talk to you soon!
Cheers
xoxo Anni

WEEK'S FASHION RANKING- BEST& WORST DRESSED

Hey everybody,

in my last posts I presented you some favorite lists of myself. I felt the need to tell you a little bit about myself, so you were able to get to know me a little bit better.
Furthermore, I think it is very interesting what people like and what they don't like. In my opinion you get to know a human being if you know about their favorites:-D

Iam a big fan of music, films, and FASHION and because this is, I decided to start a new category. Each week I want to give you my worst and best dressed list of the week. I will list 5 celebrities who made an impressive or unimpressive public appearance during the past week.
The major event of the week was the film festival in Venice and many celebrities showed up to present their latest movies or just themselves:-D Therefore, the people in this week's lists all made an appearance at the Venice Film Festival 2011!

Hope you like this new category and HERE we go............

WORST DRESSED LIST

(1) Evan Rachel Wood: I know a lot of people actually praised this dress, but I think it just does not look good. I do not like that it looks like a day-wear blouse and a skirt has been sewed at it randomly.

(2) Gywneth Paltrow: I like the color of the dress, but I do not like the siloutette. In my opinion it does not underline Gwyneth' top body! Also it is a little bit boring I think.......

(3) Kate Winslet: I do not think this dress comforts her curves..she looks bigger than she is in reality.

(4) Madonna: Do I really need to say more?

(5) Monica Belucci: I think she is a beautiful woman, one of the last screen-godessness!!! But this dress does not look right!

BEST DRESSED LIST

 (1) Andrea Riseborough: This is a real princess dress, nice color and I like that she is wearing her hair down as well.

(2) Diane Kruger: She is such a fashion icon, always looks gorgeous and this makes no exeption!

 (3) Keira Knightley: Oh I want to be like her! She is so pretty and this dress just looks fab on her!!!!
 (4) Vittoria Puccini: Italian actress who really knows how to look good:-D
(5) Marisa Tomei: I loved Marisa in Up in the air, I think she always looks so comfortable in what she is wearing and this dress is super nice. It is kind of a simple dress, however the pearl-necklace gives it an extra-detail. Nice choice!

What do you think of this week's best and worst dressed list? Any choices you do not agree on?

See you soon and take care!!!!!

TV Shows that I love to watch

Hey guy,

how are you doing loves?
Looking from outside, summer seems to be over finally- well its september already so I guess thats ok!!

The best thing about fall is the fact that all my favorite TV shows are starting with new seasons!!! So excited to watch them while being wrapped up in bed with a nice cup of coffee- nothing better on rainy days!
For that reason I decided to show you guys what my favorite shows are. What are your favorite shows? Anything you like to watch in particular?

Here is my list:

(1) Hawaii Five-0: This series is about a special group of police force operating in Hawaii. The plot is interestingly made and all the characters are great!
(2) 90210: Its a renewal of the popular show Beverly Hills 90210 from the 90s. I used to watch it back then, and I started to watch the new version. I love this California- feeling, where you actually are able to feel the sun on your face just by watching it.

(3) Celebrity Juice: This is a great British comdey show. Keith Lemon (host), Fearne Cotton (co-host) and Holly Willoughby (co-host) are starring in it. This is a great show, I always laugh my heart out- great British humour!!

(4) Gilmore Girls: This show is probably one of the ones which I watched most. I watched every episode at least 5 times and Iam still enjoying it!
(5) Gossip Girl: I started to watch this show before I went to the USA. There, I continued to watch it and still do. It tells stories in the lives of Upper East Side- people, especially focusing on a group of five young people: Serena (played by Blake Lively); Blair (Leighton Meeser), Nathan (Chase Crawford), Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Dan (Pen Badgley).

(6) Keeping up with the Kardashians: see what Khloé, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian are up to and get a glimpse into their lives!
(7) King of Queens: This is my most favorite show!!! I love it so much- every episode is just geniously funny! It is about Carrie and Dough Haffernan and Carrie's dad Arthur Spooner living their life in Queens.

(8) McLeods Daughters: Well, this is actually the only TV show produced in Australia I have ever watched. It tells the stories about Claire and Tess McLeod and their tough life on an Australian farm.

(9) Sex and the City: I don't think I have to explain THIS choice. NYC, sex, fashion, and four fabulous strong women!

 (10) The Mentalist: Last but not least this is also one of my favorite shows at the moment. I love the character Patrick Janes (starring Simon Barker) and the nice story lines. In times of CSI and crime series including a lot of exploding and shot gun blasts- this show is just refreshingly simple!

So, these are my most favorite TV shows right now!!!!!
Hope you enjoy watching them like I do and if you hadnt already I hope I could give you some inspiration!

See you soon!!!!

A Day in the life of Anni....VACATIONS

Hey loves,

so the past few days I was thinking a lot about my life and all the fabulous places I have already visited.
Iam feeling so blessed that I was able to see all these beautiful cities and countries, to experience different cultures and meet exciting people.
One of the best months in my life, was my term abroad in Arizona, USA. I was studying in Flagstaff at the local Northern Arizona University (NAU). While I was there, I saw a lot of the state (like Phoenix, Tuscon, Lake Powell in Utah, Grand Canyon, Painted Dessert...) and I travelled to Las Vegas and New York.
Also, once a year my family and I were on holiday and we went to: Ireland, Cornwall, Scotland, England, France, Italy. I cannot thank my parents enough for giving me the opportunity to travel to such stunning places.
In order for you to have a better understanding for what Iam talking about, here are some pictures!!! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Take care
xoxo Anni

1. Some Impressions of AZ: Phoenix, Flagstaff, Painted Desert, Countryside and Las Vegas (in Nevada)

2. New York
3. UK: Edinburg (Scotland), Cornwall, Ireland

3. Bretagne

Such beautiful places, don't you agree?
